Ercan Kizir was born in Amasya in 2001. He graduated from Amasya Fine Arts and Sports High School in 2019. In the same year, he was admitted to Dokuz Eylül University, Buca Faculty of Education, Department of Fine Arts Education, where he completed his Bachelor's degree in 2024. In 2025, he began his postgraduate studies at Dokuz Eylül University, Institute of Educational Sciences. In his artistic practice, he incorporates gold—a material historically associated with sacredness, power, and permanence—alongside the theme of violence. He aims to reposition violence in his works not merely as a momentary image, but as a phenomenon that can be read within the continuity of human experience. The gold surfaces serve as an element that confronts the viewer with the image through an aesthetic attraction. Thus, the tension between beauty and discomfort, attraction and pain, forms the core of the artist's visual language.
